Acceptable Use Policy

This policy is part of the Terms of Service. It applies to everything sent to or run on RouterLane: API requests, Smart+ jobs, the console and the website.

Break no laws, harm no one

Do not use the Service to:

  • break the law, or help someone else break it;
  • infringe intellectual property, privacy or other rights;
  • create, store or share sexual content involving minors. We report it to the authorities;
  • harass, threaten, or incite violence against people or groups;
  • seek serious help with weapons capable of mass casualties;
  • defraud people, phish, impersonate others, or send spam.

Leave other systems alone

Do not use the Service to:

  • write, deploy or distribute malware, or exploits against systems you are not authorized to test;
  • gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems or data;
  • scan, flood or disrupt networks and services.

Security work on your own systems, or with written permission from their owner, is fine.

Handle personal data lawfully

Send personal data only when you have a lawful basis to process it, and do not use the Service for unlawful surveillance or profiling.

Use the Service as intended

  • Keep keys inside your organization. Do not share, sell or publish them.
  • Do not resell access to the Service without a written agreement with us.
  • Do not get around plan limits, for example with extra accounts or keys.
  • Do not load-test, probe or attack the Service. Report security issues to security@routerlane.com under the rules on the security page.
  • Do not try to reach other customers' data.

Smart+

  • Use Smart+ for the software task you give it, on a repository you have the right to share.
  • Do not use a job to mine, scan networks, send traffic to third parties, or run work unrelated to the task.
  • Do not try to leave the workspace or the account a job runs as.

Enforcement

We may refuse or block requests, cut replies, revoke keys, and suspend or close accounts that break this policy, and report illegal activity to the authorities. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you what happened and give you a chance to fix it.

Reporting abuse

Report abuse of the Service to security@routerlane.com.
